Board Repairs at Harana and a Surf Session
We were up relatively early and made our way over to the surf shop to see if the boards were ready. We arrived just as everyone was leaving to head down for a surf. It turned out that Mike was still there, just in the back working away. He had repaired the boards, including some dings that were not related to us. We paid him an extra 100 php to help cover the extra dings that he had repaired. This was on top of the extra ding repair that we had paid for yesterday, just doing our bit to help out the surf vendors of Siargao. Mike had done a fantastic job, we took the boards straight out and had a solid surf session. I pushed Christine onto a few waves and rode a fair few waves of my own.
A relaxing day
Once we were all surfed out we made our way back to Siargao Residencies for a shower and some breakfast. We had just finished breakfast and were preparing to head out when it started raining again. Christine wanted something to clean out her ears, so we jumped on the scooter and made our way to a pharmacy that was close to the wet markets. I had learned by this time not to park the scooter in the direct sun shine lest you end up with significant burns in some uncomfortable places, so while Christine was in the pharmacy I parked the bike in the shade around the corner. Seeing as we were so close to the wet markets, I decided to grab some bits from the markets to finish off lunch and a couple of eggs for brunch. We collected the bits and then returned to the villa to cook up some brunch. I messaged Byron and he rocked in just as we were serving up. We ate, posted a couple of videos and then made our way down to Coco Frio to have a couple of coconut milk shakes. We met up with Scotty and mum while we were there, Byron had gone out to the Maasin River river with his friends to check out the lagoon and cold springs. Christine and I had a siesta in the afternoon.

One last surf session in Siargao
After our siesta I lugged the boards over to cloud 9 so that I could hand them back. I paddled out at Jacking horse and caught a couple of waves. I was after one last wave when some bloke ran over the top of me. I have been surfing for around 15 years and I am still not quite sure how he managed it. He appeared to catch the wave and then rather than sail down the face he pulled up over the top and ran straight over the top of my board. Thankfully no serious damage was done. After that I decided to cut my losses and head in before the board sustained another injury. When I took the boards back some bloke from one of the board stands said that he owned one of the boards, and that the other belonged to the next stand. I couldn’t find the lady who had organised the board hire. I asked for the paperwork before I surrendered the boards the guys at the board stand thought this was amusing, but they gave me the paperwork, well at least part of it. Christine had gone to the pharmacy to get some antibiotics for her ear that had been giving her trouble over the last couple of days. She had gone back to the villa to put the ear drops in and had then returned to find us, by this time we had already walked back to the villa. Christine decided to stay and watch the sunset over the Sunset Bridge.
In the evening we wandered down to Bebies’s, the BBQ place that Flo and Richard had recommended. We ordered three skewers of three different meats, a couple of plates of vegetables and some rice. This ended up being a lot of food.
