This is how I envisaged our Sunday was going to go, wake up at a reasonable hour, knock up some breakfast tacos and head down in to the office to try and clear some of the backlog of work that we have building up, a productive yet fairly uneventful day.

Tiff catching a few rays
Here is what actually happened, Tiff woke up, peered out side and promptly declared “there was a massive thunderstorm last night and it is currently really foggy today is going to be a fantastic day, load up the surf boards and lets roll”. A few minuets later we were out on the M1 and heading to the Gold Coast, on the way down Paige and Byron’s uncle Chad sent us a text message and asked what we were up to. When he found out we were heading to the coast and then on to Barchino he decided he was in.
Even though we were a little late we managed to get a park right on the edge of the beach and the view was magnificent with crystal clear water, spectacular waves and perfectly clear blue skies. We hit the water with gusto, Paige and Byron took their body boards out and I the surf board, I managed to catch some awesome waves before heading in to smash a few with Byron on the body boards.

Another fantastic session
We had just packed up the vehicle when Uncle Chad arrived and we all made our way down to Barchino, once again we were amazingly lucky to get a park just in front, so we could keep an eye on the boards and we also managed to get a table even though the place was pumping.
If the day had finished at that point it would have made for an awesome morning and we all would have been more than satisfied, but it wasn’t done yet.
After our delicious breakfast we decided to go back down to the beach to walk some of it off and take advantage of the warm conditions. After reclaiming our awesome park in front of the beach (by some miracle of chance), we had no sooner hit the sand when we ran into Steve Toga, Keshia and their little puppy (winston). We had a great yarn to Steve while Keshia paddled out and caught a couple of spectacular waves. While we were conversing with those guys Song and Peichen called to say they were back in the country and would love a catch up session.
We eventually parted company with Steve, Keshia and winston so they could grab some lunch and we could have our walk. After our walk uncle Chad decided to take the kids home with him in his convertible BMW and even took the roof off so they could enjoy more of the day. Paige and Byron thought this was the best thing ever and really enjoyed cruising up the Highway with the music pumping and the top down.

Cruising with the top down
In the afternoon we collected all the ingredients for tacos did a stack of prep and made our way up to Song and Peichens for that catch up session, as an added bonus Songs dad is out here and we also got the opportunity to practice our Chinese language skills.
Some days are spectacularly amazing and then there was that day, and that is why I am thinking that at some point on Saturday afternoon somehow the water at our place must have had some Felix Felicis added, because Sunday rocked.

That was a great day
